As I was kind of "spring cleaning", I started to find money in spots I don't check regularly, found a few bucks in a sweater pocket, found $15 in my gym back, and another $10 in my purse after cleaning it out. I thought that was a cool enlight of what I'm seeing and hearing in the rest of the world whose trying to make ends meet. It seems very harsh out there right now, you open the newspaper and it's all in front of you. So you just throw a prayer out there every once in a while and hope that things will get better. And I know they will, just takes time.
So in the meantime, in my world I've discussed with my now 17-year old and 15 year old how important it is to save all that you can, you need a little money cushion in times like these. Maybe not going to the movies every weekend, not buying that cup of coffee or that cool shirt in the trendious store that you just got to have. Those things don't really mean too much, it's just something americans do. And we "do" too much of it. So we are sorta of downspending for the next year. Make coffee at home instead, rent movies and have a movie night, go with friends for a walk or hike instead of going to the mall to "hang out". Things get better when you feel better about yourself and what you are doing for yourself, locally, and globally. And what to do for the environment, that's a whole 'nother topic!! But I'm sure we all feel the same way, just be aware of your decisions.
Back to the new year. In the past month, I've been getting my body reenergized and as close to symetry as possible. I've been seeing a wonderful chiro. Ms. Potter, who has straightened out my feet, my pelvis and my head plates. Have been running a bit easy to make sure the ligaments and muscles keep all that mentioned in place and it seems to be working. Haven't had any pain running in Anadel (which I didn't before, just some nagging hip tightness, which turns out to be SI joing problems, which I knew I had). With her help of some maintenance exercises, I think this year is going to be great. Have a few races lined up for the year. A 1/2 ironman in April at Oceanside, a couple olympics in between, another 1/2 vineman in July in town, and hoping to end the year in October with a 1/2 or full marathon. So got some plans, so I know even the best laid plans can go haywire, but that's my intentions for the year. We'll take one day at a time and see how my body and my family does with my intentions! And also with the support of my coach, Jenny, the chiro. and my massage therapist, it should keep my in the best form possible.
Also, don't let the cold whether deter you from something you want to do. I was thinking of people in Chicago and living there and how cold it would be there. And then I didn't complain anymore, it's really cold there, so bless them in their terrain. We have it good here in Calif., so hop on the health train and get out an move or dance or both! In any event do something for yourself that you normally wouldn't do, out of the box, take the blinders off, it's so worth it!!! See you out there....god bless you and Happy New Year, it's going to be a good one!
